Düsseldorf, Germany

During WWII, Dusseldorf was mostly destroyed by arial bombing.  A few remaining original buildings are near the river.  So- most of the city is modern architecture following the war. For most of my visits and travels, Dusseldorf was my starting point due to the high-speed rail service and quick access to other locations through Europe.

Munich, Germany

Munich is a place I have visited many times, and one of my favorite cities in the world.  I first visited Munich in 2002 when I was an engineer for BMW for the Z4 Roadster.  I then visited many other times to include Christmas.

Freiburg, Germany

The visit to Freiburg was a pleasant surprise.  This was my first visit to the Black Forest region of Germany and I enjoyed very much. I happened to be in Germany during Carnival, which is around the same time as Mardi Gras but a different theme.  There was little tourism and mainly locals.
